Privacy first
Your money stays your business
SpendRoast was built so that we never see your finances. There is no account and no server holding your data.
- On-device only. Transactions, budgets and roasts live in a database on your phone.
- Messages aren't kept. SMS text is read on your phone and discarded; it is never stored or uploaded.
- No financial data to ads. Ads (free plan only) never receive transactions, amounts, merchants or messages.
- You're in control. App lock, hide amounts, export to CSV and delete everything in two taps.
FAQ
Questions, answered
Does SpendRoast upload my bank messages or transactions?
No. Messages are read on your phone and discarded after the amount, merchant and date are taken out. Transactions are stored only on your phone. There's no account and no server with your data.
Do I have to give SMS permission?
No. Automatic capture needs it, but you can paste a bank message, import a CSV statement or add payments by hand instead. Everything else works the same.
Which banks does it work with?
SpendRoast understands the common wording of Indian bank, card and UPI alerts ("debited", "spent", "credited"), so most banks work without any setup. Anything it isn't sure about goes to a review queue instead of being counted.
Can I use it outside India?
Yes. Manual entry, paste and CSV import work anywhere, totals support several currencies, and roasts are available in English. Automatic SMS reading is tuned for Indian bank messages.
Is it available on iPhone?
Not yet. SpendRoast is an Android app, because automatic capture relies on reading bank SMS, which iOS doesn't allow.
Are the roasts mean?
Only as mean as you choose. Pick Friendly, Sarcastic or Savage, or turn roasts off. Rent, bills, medical and education spending are never roasted, and every roast says which rule triggered it.
How do I cancel Pro or get a refund?
Subscriptions are managed in Google Play (Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy.
How do I delete my data?
In the app: Settings → Privacy & data → Delete all data. Uninstalling the app also removes it. See Delete your data for details.
